Before I became a mother, I was obsessed with skincare and make-up. I was young and could be frivolous, Sephora was my mecca and earning in SGD made everything seem “cheaper”.
Fast forward to 2021 when I was pregnant with my son and breastfed 23 months after, my hormones were array, dry skin, increased hair fall, I gained weight and my cravings were off the charts.
Collagen what?
After I weaned my child, my hormones became worse. Hair fall, dry skin and what made it worse was that I had been so focused on caring for my son and being an on-demand bottle service for him that I forgot how to take care of myself. I didn’t even have a skin regimen anymore!
I was so out of the skincare scene that I didn’t know what the latest trends were and why! I started from scratch , scrolling through tiktok I found a couple of viral Malaysian brands that sounded good and gave those a try. Korean brands seemed overpriced but I bought a few moisturizers and eye creams too.
Trial and error with a few brands brought me down the rabbit hole of Retinol which helped my skin but still it didn’t feel as stable as it should, with random dry patches and extreme sensitivities. I was out of my wit thinking this is the best my skin could get!
When collagen’s started becoming popular, I was sceptical. There were so many variations, it was hard to keep track. People were promoting anything that they were selling. I wasn’t convinced.
Along this time was also when I started an EMS workout class and made some new friends. One friend, (let’s call her K) was into this new selling platform NTX, she had tried their collagen and was totally sold on it.
For months she tried convincing me to sign on but I wasn’t convinced. Sure, her skin looked good but would it work on me?
One day she told me she had an extra box and if i wanted to try she’d sell it to me for cost price. So ok, I relented. At RM2XX the price seemed reasonable for a ‘premium’ collagen from Australia with 30 sachets.
Vida Glow Collagen Series
In the Vida Glow Series there are 3 different collagen, unfortunately Vida Glow Pro Collagen is only available in Singapore BUT I chose it for it’s high efficacy and honestly , no regrets!
you CAN still try the other ones in the series but fair warning, it might be a little slower to see results

Vida Glow Pro Collagen
With a 120mg of collagen per serving, Vida Glow’s Pro Collagen was clinically backed and tested. With a Halal certificate from Australia , every thing seemed to check out and so I started on my journey to help my skin heal from the inside and out.
Within the first week, I noticed my dry spots slowly disappearing and by the third week I was convinced, collagen was a THING. It actually works!
By this time, I had stopped my EMS workout and went back to strength training, usually my workouts would start in the morning , my knees would crack and squeak — but after taking Vida Glow, no more squeaky sounds!!
It took me awhile to realise this but boy was it amusing!
I continued for a month and took a break from it, to be honest the price felt pricey initially and I wanted to know if my skin would go back to it’s dry and unpredictable self.
Fortunately it didn’t! It was a nice surprise that my skin was still looking AND feeling healthy.
Jumping on the Bandwagon
After a month or so, I too decided to jump on the NTX bandwagon. Vida Glow’s Pro collagen is now a staple in my every day diet.
I didn’t actually tell my friends when I started consuming it but the amount of people who slid into my DMs asking me what I was using — was testimony that I wasn’t just “syok sendiri” — that my skin was really looking better than before!
Placebo or no?
A closer look at the ingredients
- Pro collagen 120mg per serving
- Comprehensive Peptide Formula – tri peptide and hydrolyzed classic peptides
- Peptides — amino acids which in the context of skin care, help increase collagen and elastin which are essential for skin firmness and smoothness – hence they’re ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
- Actazin – is a kiwi enzyme that is rich in vitamin c, E and prebiotics, and fiber. It also enhances the absorption of amino acids (aka peptides)
- Contains Bromelains extracted from the stem of pineapple, it is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant that helps promote healing and hydration with improved texture and tone
After 3 months I can honestly say that it’s made such a huge difference to my skin! Placebo? I think not!
The before picture on your right was taken under good lighting in a cafe but look at how dull my skin looked? I’m pretty sure I was wearing some sort of skin tint which i usually do.
On the left was the day I went for a consult with my ENT after my sinus operation (a story for another day), I remember not doing much to my skin because I was afraid the specialist would be touching my face and I didn’t want him to be touching my make up!
The difference was so noticeable friends started DM-ing me asking me how come i look so good after my surgery!
it’s definitely not make-up but clinically backed COLLAGEN!
Should I try or is collagen just another buzzword?
For me, I suffered with unstable, unpredictable skin for almost 3 years post-partum. Initially I felt RM2XX for a box of collagen is pricey but now after 3 months of consuming, I can honestly say that because it works, it IS worth it! I would rather pay RM2xx for something that works than something that doesn’t work!
There are so many brands out there that will of course, tell you that their collagen is the best and has the smallest molecule making it the most absorbent. Truth is, none of these brands are clinically backed. They all use UGC testimonials from influencers who secretly go to aesthetic clinics and use expensive skin care on the side — for me, the best testimony is MYSELF and clinically backed results for sure!
Don’t take my word for it , do shop around , ask around and do your own research! Be ware of fake collagen that can lead to cysts… best to consume supplements from legit brands!
For now I am a TRUE fan of Vida Glow Pro Collagen! I can’t praise it’s effectiveness enough!
- No fishy smell
- Able to be mixed with hot AND cold drinks
- Packed in a convenient travel sachet
And most importantly —
CLINICALLY BACKED!
I’ll let the results speak for themselves!
Good luck Mamas!
